April 2018 events

Thanks to everyone who attended community information sessions during April 2018 to participate in the discussion. More detail about the events we held is below. While no more community sessions are planned for the next little while, you can still email us your questions and ideas for Stage 1 at: engage@younghusbandwoolstore.com.au

Members of the project team, including technical experts were available on the following dates to answer people's questions and discuss ideas:

  • Saturday 21 April 3-5pm

  • Tuesday 24 April 5-7pm
  • Sunday 29 April 3-5pm

All events were held at: Level 2, 10 Elizabeth St, Kensington VIC 3031, Australia

Topics for discussion included

We invited your questions, suggestions and ideas on the following topics (or anything else relating to the rejuvenation):

  • Stage 1 early works: Stage 1 includes the rejuvenation of the woolstore for use as offices, shops, studios and suites and new communal indoor spaces.

  • Precinct projects: The proposed Elizabeth Street road closures, the new community garden and how you can help us name the laneways!
  • Stage 2 planning permit: The design and planning work for Stage 2 of the development. This builds upon the agreed master plan for the site. It will include the rejuvenation of the heritage building on the south-east corner of 2-50 Elizabeth Street and the construction of an eight-storey commercial building immediately adjacent to the railway line.
